Oregon Skiers Place Top 50 In Sapporo, Japan Marathon

Team TorbjornSport skier Dan Packman and friends Jan Spurkland and Levi Hensel all from Bend, Oregon went to Japan and raced the Sapporo Worldloppet ski marathon on February 13. Here are some photos:
The Sapporo Worldloppet is held at the Sapporo Dome, on the outskirts of Sapporo City of 1.8 million people.
The conditions were excellent with a base of more than 1 meter. The snow temperature at race start was -10 Celsius with 70% humidity. There were 2200 participants in this 25th edition of the race.
Three Americans from Bend, Oregon finished top 50. Jan Spurkland was 25th in 2.51, Dan Packman 42nd in 3.02 and Levi Hensel 46th in 3.06.
