Amazing Vasaloppet photos

Ever had nightmares about not being able to move at all in a race or about being trapped in a sardine can? If yes, you might feel right at home when viewing these photos from the 2007 Swedish Vasaloppet, the Worlds largest ski race.

The style attempted used is “classic” and please note that all the photos are from the actual race, none are from pre-start waiting….

I did the Vasaloppet in 2006. Even though I was in Wave 2 it was pretty congested the first 2-3km when the number of tracks shrunk from 80 at the start line to 6 and then to 4. I couldn't imagine starting at the back of 15,000 skiers. It was a GREAT experience and can't wait to go back. I was registered this year but had to cancel due to other commitments (work related meeting).

I completed the 2007 Vasaloppet. This was my first season of racing, at the master level, and my first time doing the Vasaloppet. It was a tough day with tricky waxing conditions, poor tracks, and a broken pole to contend with. But an incredible experience, nevertheless. You can find my trip story here:
