Oscar Svard of Sweden won the Swedish Vasaloppet on Sunday ahead of Martin Larsson also of Sweden. Norwegian Jorgen Aukland was third.

Sofia Lind of Sweden won the women’s race ahead of Ulrika Persson, Sweden and Christina Paluselli of Italy.

Raul Olle had a 2-minutes lead halfway in the race, but the main group caught him again. There were 20 skiers in the lead group toward the end, but half of them got tangled up crossing the last bridge before the finish sprint started. Among the skiers that tangled were Daniel Tynell and Stanislav Rezak.

Oscar Svard was ahead when the last kilometer started and collected his second Vasaloppet victory.

Jorgen Aukland has a second and third from previous Vasloppet races

- It’s not much to say. I wasn’t strong enough at the end. I was incredibly tired toward the end and was only trying to hang on, and that wasn’t good enough, said Jorgen Aukland right after the race.

He was 2 seconds behind Svard after 90-kilometers. 5 seconds separated the top ten skiers.
