Fischer Drops Doped Athletes

Fischer USA relased the following press release on February 28. Fischer had been the ski supplier for Muehlegg, Lazutina, and Danilova:

From Fischer Austria, February 28, 2002:

================================================= Doping Scandal casts a shadow on Nordic Ski Sports ==================================================

In spite of all the positive emotions created by Nordic skiing at the Olympic Games, the doping scandals left a very bad feeling.

Fischer is the Cross Country ski market leader and the largest supplier with more than 500 athletes worldwide. In the contracts with our athletes, we refer clearly to our dissociation from all kinds of doping substances. Therefore, we have cancelled the contracts of the involved athletes, effective immediately.

The above statement was released by Fischer Austria on February 28, 2002.

Fischer USA also adheres to the exact same zero-tolerance policy with all of our athletes.
