Olympian Wendy Wagner to Map Snow Characteristics for 2010 Olympic Venue

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Former USST member and two-time Olympian Wendy Wagner is part of a University of Utah team that has been hired to map snow characteristics for the Vancouver Olympics.
The team is led by University of Utah meteorology professor John Horel, who helped conceive the idea of mapping the surface of competition snow at the 2002 Winter Games. The practical outcome is more information for waxing teams, and a leveling of the playing field - as teams that can't afford large tech crews will have the same detailed information as everyone else.
