The FasterSkier Junior of the Year is awarded to the top North American Junior skiers of the 2007/2008 season.

Junior Skier of the Year (men):

Alex Harvey (CAN). Alex finished in the top four in each of the individual events at the World Junior Championships, including taking the silver, 8 seconds off the pace, in the 10km classic race. In the 20km freestyle mass start, he raced in the top pack and was in position to battle for the win with several kilometers to go. He ultimately finished 4th. Alex also raced his first-ever World Cup events.

Honorable Mention: Noah Hoffman (USA). Noah finished 12th in the 10km classic race at World Junior Championships, and 23rd in the 20km mass start freestyle – a race in which he broke a ski early in the competition. He also won the Owl Creek Chase – a part of both the SuperTour and the North American Marathon Cup series, in impressive fashion over a loaded field.

Junior Skier of the Year (women):

Ida Sargent (USA). Ida finished 12th in the sprint and 20th in the 5km classic at the World Junior Championships. She also won or finished second in each of her 7 NCAA collegiate starts.

Honorable Mention: Rossie Brennan (USA). Sargent’s Dartmouth College and World Junior teammate finished 17th in the sprint and 18th in the 5km classic at World Juniors. She was a force on the Eatern Collegiate circuit, finishing second twice and first once in seven starts. She was an impressive 6th in the 5km freestyle race and 7th in the 15km classic mass start at the NCAA National Championships in Montana.
